This past Sunday was Baby Recognition in Church where they call all the babies that have been born in the past year up front and present them with a bible. So we took Taylor to church praying she would behave and patiently waited as they began to call out names. We watched Bubba and Kasie go up front with baby Bess and kept thinking Taylor's name would soon be called, as it was listed in the bulletin. Well all babies were up front and Taylor's name was never called, so after the prayer had been said and everyone was returning to their seats, Kenny decided that they were not going to leave his baby out, so he carried her down front and told the preacher "I guess you saved the best for last" and with that she realized what had happened and announced our names and Taylor's name as Kenny stood up front and center holding his little girl. Well with that the congregation applauded and as we were leaving church half the older ladies came up to Kenny and told him how glad they were that he decided to take her up front! As we were leaving church to get in the car Kenny said and I quote, "Nobody is ever going to forget my baby again!" What a memorable event for my first Mother's Day!

While I can laugh about this now, I was speechless at the moment!!! What a wonderful daddy Baby Taylor has. I was so proud of him for having the guts to go down there alone! So glad you have ordered a copy of worship so we can watch the proof if ever it need be proved!
ReplyDeleteThis made me teary eyed! Kenny is such a special daddy! Good for him to not let them leave his sweet girl out! I just love that! Excited to see y'all this weekend!
ReplyDeleteHow funny?!!!!!!!! Kenny is so sweet. He loves that girl and isn't going to let any situation prove otherwise. Sweet story to tell her when she gets older. Happy belated Mother's Day! :)
ReplyDeleteLacey, I laughed out loud while reading this post and finally Bo said, "What's going on over there?" and I had to read it to him. Now he's laughing too! Just the thought of Proud Daddy walking up to the congregation is so cute. Way to go Kenny!
